Notes

For a (slightly) more powerful version, drop all your Wisdom, drop Dex to 13 and Int to 13, and raise starting Str to 18 and Con to 14.  You'll lose a skill (you don't need Parry, it's just for flavor/staff mastery, it's bugged and you're not good at it) and any ability to fight unarmored (which isn't a good idea outside RP reasons anyway).  You'll gain a Str modifier (Better Knockdown, +1 AB, +1-2 Damage) and a Con Modifier (+1 fort save, 30 HP).

This isn't a power build so I went with the above version.

Also for power playing: I designed the level progression to have no XP penalty no matter the favored class of the race you pick until the very last level.  So pick a medium-sized race of your choice, though you'll probably have to drop a feat.

The Parry skill is just there for SC flavor.  Pick something else if that's undesireable.

I think a lot of people had similar ideas to this.

My personal take on this was a deep gnome M11/F10/WM7/SD2.  The deep gnome AC makes up for it being a strengther without armor or shield - they can use a quarterstaff if you give them the monkeygrip feat.

I opted for HiPS over GWS/EWS since you can get easy hits with HiPS.  With a haste item these builds will get 10 attacks per round due to the flurry bug, so that's 4 cheap shots from stealth - those 4 cheapshots are basically autohits at the start of the round.

I had a similar idea with Quarter Master.

Yeah, I knew making it that it had probably been done before, and probably done better. Though mine goes for 'flavor' so I always have that excuse to fall back on ; )

Gnomes can use Quarterstaves?  Huh, wouldn't have thunk it.

Yeah, and I love Gnome RDDs too - no one expects the little guy to hit so hard.

Analytical obsession continues:

Using the attack bonus of +40 as the builder calculates, since I don't see any buffing capability, the build using a vanilla quarterstaff with otherwise vanilla gear would deal an average damage of 16.5 damage each hit.

Against a 50 AC enemy it would deal 54 damage per round on average.

Yay! Take that 50 AC dude!

+0Rating: By ShinesmanOffWhite on 20th July 2009(post hidden)
Does more than my melee wizard (Wonderbringer's Widgetmaster) build and my PTWF/EDM Ranger (Lumberjack of the Gods) for that same 50 AC target, so it's nothing to sneeze at, though I'm getting some pretty big numbers for builds that are more buff-focused and can get better "naked" attack bonuses.

Aha, Kilik is not to be misunderestimated!

I of course have no illusions about this beating your crafter (or most builds) in a fight, but that affirms it should be quite playable in most settings I'd imagine.  9 Str based 2handed attacks, 3 at full AB, ought to make use of enchantments fairly well too.

+0Rating: By ShinesmanOffWhite on 20th July 2009(post hidden)
Yoiks, I forgot it was a 2-hander.  Throwing that into the mix raises the damage per round to 67 (base 20.5).  I'm pretty sure strength*1.5 rounds up, but I can't remember for sure.  It's 64 if it rounds down (base 19.5).
+0Rating: By Stuflames on 20th July 2009(post hidden)

I got my Ki Criticals, though, right? : )

Str rounds down, I'm almost positive.  So the bonus would be 7x1.5= 10 (10.5) str damage.

The calculator I've set up:

http://docs.google.com/templates?q=nwn2&sort=hottest&view=public

It's supposed to be visible to anyone with a gmail account.

It accounts for a lot of stuff (even Overwhelming Critical).  I don't understand the sneak attack mechanics well enough to be comfortable including them just yet, since sneak doesn't activate on all attacks in a round.  That calculation may have to be done attack by attack.

Ah, that's why I couldn't view it.  Anyway,  cool.
