I made some changes, anything else that I should be mindful of? Really need to get started with this character.

It'll do fine like this.  Bard is a great class.  I'd be tempted to put a couple of dips in but you may not want to do that.  I played a bard through that took a fighter and a rogue dip early.  This allowed the character to handle locks and traps and also gave me heavy armor / tower shield / martial weapons proficiencies and a bonus feat.  Early in the game sometimes you just want to toss on a suit of heavy armor because you're not casting (m)any spells.

How necessary is blind-fight? Would you call extend spell a good choice for a bard?

+0Rating: By GT74 on 29th September 2009(post hidden)
I try to take both those feats on my bards.  Blindfight allows you to hit concealed opponents more reliably an extend spell is convenient because it's not fun re-casting buffs all the time.

What about Weapon Focus and Improved Critical?
+0Rating: By GT74 on 30th September 2009(post hidden)
It all helps.  Improved crit may not be important since you can 1) get keen weapons, 2) get wizards to cast keen edge on your weapon or 3) cast weapon of impact on the weapon yourself if you're using a blunt weapon.  All these things do the same thing as improved crit.

STR-based FTW.  Then you could take a weapon focus instead of finesse.

Unless you were going to be a rogue/bard and handle all rogue duties as well I think 16 INT is a bit much for a bard.  14 should be enough ... especially when you're not allocating skill points.

There must be something better to take than combat casting?
